ReWild invests $ 100,000 in biodiversity restoration locally and globally
PORTSMOUTH - ReWild Renewables, LLC has donated $ 100,000 to the Conservation Service to invest in land restoration here in Maine. The donation will help preserve four unique and environmentally important packages, each identified by the Conservation Service as one of the most valuable packages for "habitat connectivity", "climate resistance" and "ecosystem biodiversity".
"ReWild is a Solar 2.0 company. As the industry matures, we are at the forefront of our company's comprehensive commitment to combating climate change by reducing carbon emissions and protecting biodiversity, ”said Patrick Jackson, CEO.
Gift ReWild will support the protection of the following songs:
- In Maine, the high-peak region and border mountain reserve are creating important trails of connectivity and environmental sustainability as the climate warms.
- In the High Peaks region, more than 13,500 acres between two areas known as Quill Hill and Perham Stream will add about 100,000 acres of conservation-related land.
- The Border Mountains Protection, nearly 10,000 acres adjacent to more than 22,000 acres of state land in Quebec, extends a permanently preserved northland corridor to a total area of more than 260,000 acres and is a key link to the main ecological route to the Mountains White in New Hampshire through the mountains of western Maine and the Quebec border area and beyond.
"This gift allows ReWild to invest even more here in Maine," said Matt Doubleday, chief executive officer for sustainable development. "In addition to quality work and the millions of dollars invested in the state, we have increased investment in preserving the important Maine environment."
